On Saturday, October 18, 2008, everyone was excited and expecting to see 7 fighters representing Sitan Gym (Philly and New York). However, due to the performance of our fighters from there previous fights, it is now hard to get them fights here in PA. Therefore, only two fighters from Sitan Gym (Philly), Timothy Amorim and Osvaldo Dominguez, were matched up. From now on, Sitan Gym will have to go out of state for there Philadelphia fighters.

First up that night representing Sitan Gym was, 18 year old Timothy Amorim, who usually fights at 138 lbs. It was told that his opponent, who is the promoters fighter, was going to weigh in at 130 lbs. So Sitan Gym Philadelphia coach, Rami Ibrahim, told Tim to come down as much as he can just to be fair to the other fighter, even though there was a 10 lb allowance. Timothy, came in at 135 lbs and his opponent came in at 140 lbs. When Rami told Timothy’s opponents trainer, “I thought he was 130 lbs?” His trainer then replied, “Its been years since his last fight, so I don’t remember his weight.” That was so hard to believe, that a trainer would not know how much his own fighter weighs. When it was time to be introduced to go into the ring, they announced Tim’s opponent first, and then we waited to be introduced, however, the announcer just walked out the ring and declined to announce us. With all that said, Tim walked right through his opponent, who had 4 years of experience more then Tim. Timothy Amorim, won by unanimous decision, improving his record to 4W-2L.

Next up for Sitan Gym, was 22 year old Osvaldo Dominguez, aka June. June came in at 155 lb and his opponent came in at… who knows they didn’t even weigh him. When we saw his opponent, he looked like he weighed easily 170 lbs. It didn’t matter. Rami was confident in his fighter June. Right before June stepped out to the ring, Rami took June to the side and told him, “I need you to make a statement… its time to see the fruits of YOUR labor.” When the fight started all Rami had to say was, “Come in, come out.” June executed all his technique with force and dropped his opponent in the 2nd and stopped his opponent in the 3rd round. Thus, giving him another KO victory to his undefeated record of 3W-0L-2KO.

Rami would like to say to his fighters, “It’s not important whether you win or lose. What is important is for you to execute your game plan and what you have been training so hard to do, in the actual fight. If you train so hard and then go and do everything but what you have been training on, it doesn’t even matter if you win by KO.”
